I started wearing these gloves in 2006 and haven't stopped since. These gloves are without a doubt the best roof climbing gloves. I work with a chimney and climb roofs all the time to do the work. Sometimes even at an 8/12 pitch, depending on the quality/age of the gravel, you have to put your palms on the pitch and help you climb. These gloves will make you feel like Spider-Man! Holy mackerel. What a grip. They hold up pretty well considering how rough and rough the clapboard is on the back pockets of jeans, on the knees, etc. Roofers and whistlers know what I'm talking about. I've gotten so many people to work with these gloves that I think I probably deserve a commission. LOL They're really good for anything that needs extra support. A word of caution. DO NOT use these gloves when doing something that rotates in the palm of your hand, such as turning. B. turning a drill or breaking tile rods. It flattens the rubberized palm and wraps it around the drill or bar at a speed that makes you dizzy. This can lead to serious injuries. Speaking from experience of course. I'm 6ft 2in and 275lbs so the big guy and plus size fit me exactly what you need for better grip, too big and they will be sloppy on your hands and will do more harm than good.
