They look like a cheap synthetic material and have calibers.

Leather? I'm not sure. They look like a cheap synthetic material and smell chemically when I open the package. Maybe they treat "skin" with something and that's why they had a smell. Leather or not - I'll keep them to myself and try them out, but maybe I'll look for a different product next time.
