Doesn't fit properly in my truck.

Contrary to some reviews, the instructions are ok. Just slow down and READ them. They are short but sufficient. I saw a video of this kit being installed in a 2004 Tacoma where they had no problems at all, but on my truck my install kit had problems. Issues that lead me to believe that either this kit has changed since these people made these videos or the 2004 Tacoma had more than one dash configuration. ', I could not place the block in the dashboard. I checked the mounting tabs on the building block and they were accurate, so I knew I hadn't cut them wrong. But every time I tried to insert them, something in the dash was interfering with the mount. At first I thought maybe some wires are interfering, but no. After much trial and error, I determined that the interference was due to the sheet metal in the dash frame near the top mounting screws touching the bracket's frame, which protruded about a half inch past the screw tab. After I cut it so that the frame ended behind the bar, the unit fit flawlessly. It was a bad headache. So if you're installing into a 2004 taco, be aware this could happen to you. Don't get frustrated or stressed, the plastic isn't that strong and you'll break the tabs. Locate the offending metal (near the top mounting tabs in this case) and trim the plastic as needed. Then come here and give me a bad review, and maybe one day they'll fix this pretty mediocre radio mount. , it worked but not as easy as I would have liked in the instructions.
