Lots of trimming. good for parts

not for the faint of heart. You know better what you're doing. I installed everything correctly in my '97 Corolla, although I'll hang myself before I install another radio again.

Pros
  • nice item
Cons
  • dubious purchase for the elderly

Poor quality on lighting and electrics

Shown up where the radio goes with the plastic already broken and then the instructions told me to break the wrong grommets for a 1990 4runner and now it won't fit the ceiling to be attached. I would give 0 stars if I could.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Band

It's a lego set to redesign your crappy old car.

This is a Lego set that you can use to turn your crappy old car radio into a crappy aftermarket radio. You'll have to cut out some parts and it'll probably never get right, but it's a lot easier than cutting random plastic pieces yourself to get it working.

Pros
  • Cell Phone
Cons
  • Safety

The frame is placed on the mounting sleeve.

We bought a kit locally but it did not include a frame for the new radio housing. We couldn't attach backers to the new sleeveless radio, so it was just good for the pocket. This kit includes many different brackets, so you can work with many car models.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Terrible design horrible fit

Terrible design horrible fit had to remove the F and still doesn't fit my car, it's supposed to fit, even in the instructions. I would not recommend this product to anyone with a 1st Gen 4Runner, even though it "fits" them. I have to find another one, my stereo is in my car now but it looks and fits like crap and my dash doesn't close fully at the bottom.

Buy the one with the bag. Other. Not this one.

If you've ever installed a car stereo, imagine the standard kit. A few screws, cut off a few tabs, pray your stereo ring will fit. crossed fingers. Shit it isn't. Okay, you can only see the stereo cage from below, and only if you look for it. To be honest, now that it's there, I'd prefer the one with the one DIN-sized pocket under the radio to this one. There are no poor quality issues and it keeps it where it needs to be, but if you don't plan on jamming the platter (switches, displays, etc.)…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Useless features

Absolutely not suitable 84-88 4Runner, despite the instructions.

This kit gets 2 stars just because it fits the first generation 4Runner (1984-1988) but only because I have the tools to install it. The instructions are pretty clear, but the brackets require bigger modifications than the instructions state, and I also have to cut into my car's trim to fit. The area circled in green used to have plastic, but it contaminated the mount so it had to be cut out. The area circled in red cannot be cut due to the screw, so it is not suitable for the first generation…

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • No cannon

Doesn't fit properly in my truck.

Contrary to some reviews, the instructions are ok. Just slow down and READ them. They are short but sufficient. I saw a video of this kit being installed in a 2004 Tacoma where they had no problems at all, but on my truck my install kit had problems. Issues that lead me to believe that either this kit has changed since these people made these videos or the 2004 Tacoma had more than one dash configuration. ', I could not place the block in the dashboard. I checked the mounting tabs on the…

Pros
  • Robust construction
