The socket is well designed and allows you to easily remove your existing incandescent bulb and replace it with a 194 LED bulb. A white LED lamp produces a much brighter light than a yellowish incandescent lamp. I used a Marsauto 194 LED 6000K (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B079L3WBDN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and the end result is great.
