There are products that cause problems or inconveniences if they do not work. And there are products like this that you will most likely never need, but if they don't work, it can lead to a dangerous situation. Let me explain part of the glass stamp: it's the round black cap at the end of the tool in the pictures. When you press the black cap, a small metal spike will spring forward through the hole in the black cap. I believe that's what breaks auto glass, allowing a person to break the rest of the glass and then break it easily. The problem was that right after we opened the box for one of these (we bought two), I pushed the black cap down once - the metal pin clicked forward as it should. No problem the second time. The third time ("Okay ma'am, that's how it works") the spring pin mechanism broke. So after three times one of the most important parts of this instrument failed. Use this thing, I can't let it break I need it to function in the few seconds I have to survive or save someone else. So hats off to all the 5 star reviews that had working tools, but that seemed like a red flag to go ahead and use another tool like this.
