Review on 🔒 Enhanced Privacy with PortaPow USB USB C Data Blocker by Flavio Scarola

I use this with my iPhone XR and USB-C to Lightning cable. I like that I can see that the data lines are missing and therefore no data can be transferred. It appears to be programmed to draw the maximum possible current until the voltage drops below a set limit. This can result in an attempt to draw significantly more power than the outlet is designed for. In particular, I wouldn't recommend using this with a 5W power adapter. It's 1A and when I tried it with the Apple 5W adapter it drew 1.5A which is 150% of the rated load and can cause overheating. (Probably should not be used with any plug adapter as there is no security advantage.) In other cases it makes more sense, e.g. B. with a 2.2A wall plug that only dials 2.4Ah 110%, that's probably good.
