Review on 🐾 Armarkat Pet Steps Stairs Ramp for Cats and Dogs by Aeromark International by Melissa Lopez

Works well but scratches the floor

My elderly cat has arthritis and we bought a new bed that is much higher. He could jump there, but I wanted to make it easy for him. He's older, so he didn't want to use it at first (old cats are like old dogs - no new tricks!). It didn't help that our kitty used it as a jump protector. But it didn't take as long as I thought for the older cat to start using it. I argued between 3 and 4 speed. With the 3-step, the steps are wider, but the height between the steps is higher. I ended up doing this so the height of each tier wouldn't get so tall as my cat got older. I was concerned that the tread width would be smaller, but it's minimal and does a great job. It was very easy to assemble. My 7 year old son put everything together. I wouldn't trust the weight restrictions they put on the top steps. This isn't a problem as only the cat should be using it and I don't have a 70 lb cat. But because they're longer, they just aren't as strong as the bottom ones. Enough for my 13lbs and up (just not 70lbs as advertised). What I don't like is that the screws holding the bottom of each brace in place protrude from the bottom. I have hardwood floors and luckily I remembered to scratch them before putting them back in place. I ended up using a small mat underneath. We obviously did, but they had to make the floor better so the floors didn't get damaged.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Hard to tell
