Review on 🌊 SOONSUN 45m Underwater Waterproof Dive Housing Case: Dive Filters for GoPro Hero 5 6 7 Black & Hero (2018) by Juzer Rashid

- It does exactly what it promises.

I bought this for a GoPro 5 for snorkeling. I only used a light red filter. Pros: - Cheaper than "official" GoPro accessories. - He pretty much does what he does. - The chamber is still dry inside after being submerged to a depth of approximately 30 feet. Disadvantages: - The lens fogs up with the smallest drop of water. Make sure the camera has no water and is completely dry before plugging it in, and make sure it's properly closed before you begin. Also note that on a tiny screen, it's hard to tell if it's fogged up at all. - Lenses only snap in one direction. Otherwise they will not fit snugly and will not be securely fastened. - When putting on and taking off, the lens likes to be divided into 3 parts: colored plastic, a latch around the perimeter and an insert in the latch into parts. Because of this, I almost lost a part in the water. - Bubbles tend to stick to the lens. Remove and rub under water, possibly shaking under water to get the bubbles out of the way. Be careful not to lose the lens when the pieces fall apart. - If you accidentally bump into the "official" GoPro box, the lenses won't snap into place. Maybe they could work. I've done this on about a dozen trips of an hour or two each and never had a problem with water except twice when the lens fogged up but there was no visible water. I left it in the sun for a few minutes to make sure it was completely dry and put the camera back in with no problem. Applying anti-fog to the inside of the lens has no effect. If there is residual moisture and it's a hot day, it will find its way in front of the lens. I prefer this case over the official GoPro case as it has a safety latch and then opens with moderate force whereas the official case feels like you're about to break it before it finally pops open. The only difference seems to be that the buttons here are plastic and not metal on the official one. In any case I recommend always using this with water as the camera itself is not waterproof despite Gopro claiming it is.

Pros
  • Easier to use. You don't need to remove the protective lens before inserting the camera into the case.
Cons
  • Long delivery time
