I tried this with my HDMI to USB capture device Pengo which has a USB-C connector. It also comes with a USB-C-to-A adapter, which was criticized in the reviews, so I bought this replacement adapter hoping for a better picture and fewer crashes. I was disappointed - this adapter introduced serious color streaks that were absent from the supposedly inferior adapter that came with it, and other glitches. I think the problem is the adapter's max speed of 480Mbps so I ordered some that say USB 3.1 speed. I've been happy with other JSAUX products and expect this one to work well with devices that don't require as much bandwidth (although Pengo is advertised for USB 2). But my recommendation is: get an adapter that specifically says it supports 3.1 5 Gbps or 10 Gbps speeds.
