Immediately scratched the door frame

I didn't even try to use this product because when I put it on the door, closed it and opened it again it had already scratched my newly painted door frame. There are ridges at the top that stick out quite high and feel in charge. Two stars because they seem strong enough to hold the wreath if you don't mind breaking the door frame in the process.
