Review on Optimized Park Tool CC-3.2 Chain Wear Indicator Tool by Mark Clark

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Magic at such a low price!

This is the most specific tool you can buy. It just measures the condition of your road bike chain and tells you if it's time for a chain change. That's all. He can't do anything else. And god knows I tried. I tried to make prison scissors out of it: fail; blunt as a butter knife. I tried using two as chopsticks at my local Vietnamese restaurant Pho: no cubes. I tried to sell them as metal back scratchers: a person with a severe back itch bought them but ended up using them for their intended purpose: to see if your bike chain was stretched beyond its useful life. And that's why it's magic! What I really like about this tool is that it measures 0.5″ (and also 0.75″), which is more accurate for high-end road bikes. I like to swap out the chain if the 0.5" indicator slips too deep into the chain links. It's a low-tech tool that's actually a bit of a genius. Every serious or semi-serious Fred should have one.
