Probably 30% longer than other brands chain checker I have. I bought this because my other only checks 0.75 and 1.00. This other works well for single, 6, 7, 8, or 9 speed chains, but for newer 10 and 11 speed chains the replacement spec is 0.50 chain wear. This Park Tool CC-3.2 chain tester will test both .75 and .50 which will cover multispeed bikes but not necessarily single speed chains. I mean you can still change the single speed chains earlier at 0.75 instead of wearing them down to 1.00

Simple tool to check chain wear - YMMV

was damaged I've had the chain for a while (10,000 miles!) / only dry running I decided it was time for a replacement. Using this tool was easy and the .5 size was found quickly, the .75 size shifted some links a little but it was enough for me to say why not. All of this is to say that people who ritually replace their chain every 2500 miles must be animals and throw out some sort of TDF-like force or just not keeping their chain clean/riding in rough conditions. or they just don't realize…

Easy. Effective. for bicycle tools and maintenance

I always checked the chain tension with a ruler. dipstick. call it what you want. The problem is that chains stretch by millimeters and aligning the edge of the chain pin with the mark on the ruler is quite inaccurate. Because of the stretching, it's easy to make a mistake that can damage the shifter or wear out the gears and sprockets. Rig and takes the guesswork out of determining if a chain is stretched. Fast (done in 15 seconds or less), accurate and very easy to use. I think this tool…

Magic at such a low price!

This is the most specific tool you can buy. It just measures the condition of your road bike chain and tells you if it's time for a chain change. That's all. He can't do anything else. And god knows I tried. I tried to make prison scissors out of it: fail; blunt as a butter knife. I tried using two as chopsticks at my local Vietnamese restaurant Pho: no cubes. I tried to sell them as metal back scratchers: a person with a severe back itch bought them but ended up using them for their intended…
