was damaged I've had the chain for a while (10,000 miles!) / only dry running I decided it was time for a replacement. Using this tool was easy and the .5 size was found quickly, the .75 size shifted some links a little but it was enough for me to say why not. All of this is to say that people who ritually replace their chain every 2500 miles must be animals and throw out some sort of TDF-like force or just not keeping their chain clean/riding in rough conditions. or they just don't realize that they have more life inside them. But in 5 seconds, this tool takes the guesswork out of making an accurate decision - highly recommended as a YMMV.
