Soft plush yarn but some skeins have too many knots

I ordered several of these and most were great soft soft plush but 2 had a lot of knots and connections. One of the two is useless, I had 6 splices (and ugly knots) in the first quarter of the skein. Unfortunately it was too late for a return and a replacement. It might be better to roll them out as soon as you get them so you can estimate the number of joins and replace them if necessary.

  • Fingers crossed

I love this yarn.: Knitting & Crocheting

I used this yarn to knit a blanket for a friend who is expecting a baby. This yarn is very easy to work with, soft and light. I used 2 colors to make the quilt shown in the photos. Grey-brown was used to create a "marching elephants" border around the edge. I have to make another baby blanket very soon and I have no choice but to use Bernat Baby Blanket Big Ball yarn. The project was completed quickly and I was very happy with the results. Try it. You will be hooked too!

Check the batch numbers of the dyes!

I bought three balls of this yarn. Aside from not being enough to complete my project (my fault), the last strand is significantly lighter than the other two in daylight. Again my fault for not checking the batches of dye. Wrongly assumed that color batches in an order are the same. So buyers beware! And check your color batches upon arrival! I will never order wool online again! This was supposed to be a blanket for my first grandson - unfortunately I'm starting to knit again with yarn I…

I love this yarn! at Knitting & Crochet

This yarn is one of the softest and easiest yarns I have ever worked with. After making this a baby blanket for a friend, I bought more to make a toddler blanket for the same child and enough Bernat Blanket yarn to make blankets for all my kids, my sister and another friend. It never splits; It sometimes has an odd splice in the ball, but that rarely happens and because the yarn is so fluffy it's easy to hide. It's also machine washable, which is great for items you use frequently around the…

2/3 balls were perfect though.

I fell in love with this yarn the moment I got the first skein, it was plush, soft, fluffy, everything I wanted so I ordered a second skein. The second skein looked like the yarn had flattened out. It was still soft, but the photos show it's not the same as the first ball. The color was a bit off, definitely not as plush, and it feels thinner in the hand. I ordered different colors (I made a blanket for a colleague's child) and it was the same quality as the first ball. Hoping the 2nd ball for…

Too difficult to work with

I bought this yarn to crochet a baby blanket. I really wish I hadn't. I'm not the best at crocheting, but I've been doing it since I was a kid. However, I cannot work with this yarn. It's terrible. I have tried different size hooks but nothing has changed how painful it is. I need to find another use for the large amount of yarn I bought. Another issue was that I bought a large ball and two small ones thinking they would be the same color (probably my fault) but the large ball was purple and…

Loved this yarn for baby blankets

This yarn is very soft and very thick. I bought a skein at a local fabric store but didn't have enough for a baby blanket. I worked too far away from the store to go back and buy another one, so I ordered online. I was nervous because I have a different batch number and the colors don't match. But they fit perfectly, just what I wanted. I also bought a small blue-grey strand to create a border. The label didn't say how many skeins I needed for the project, like it was missing some sort of seal.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Hard to tell

I love all Bernat yarn for a blanket

I love all Bernat yarn for a blanket and yarn for babies. I used it to knit blankets and (winter) dresses. I also think this is a good yarn if you want to do big projects but haven't set your patience to 100%. I can knit a dress for my little one in a few hours. Or if you like soft materials that don't scratch your fingers. I like to use thicker needles than recommended for airier pieces, especially winter clothing. The bigger all the "holes” are, the more space for air heating between your…

Very very satisfied

First off I used a full size ball and a half of yarn to make the baby blanket. I know many of you ask this question, but it's not often answered here. I made a baby blanket out of this yarn for my friends baby shower and it was a huge hit, everyone wanted to touch, hold and snuggle with it. The yarn is beautiful. It's very soft. Thick and seems to hold up well and is easy to wash (super fine) or spot clean which is good for babies and children. back together, creating a slight bump - it didn't…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

The easiest yarn to work with

, This is by far the best yarn I have ever worked with! It's so thick and soft. I first used it a year ago when I was pregnant with my son and it's been the only yarn I've worked with ever since. Other baby yarns shed A LOT, which is terrible if your little one likes to chew on the fabric. It's perfect because it won't fall off, stretch, tear or unravel. I just made another baby blanket for my pregnant sister using Lilac Dove. I used baby lilac for the border, and the lilac is a little…
