Yes The locking door is weak. Yes, the angle that the ethernet connector plugs in is weird. but it works great. And there's a USB cable extender which you absolutely must use as without it I find it puts too much pressure on the USB port. When I got it I installed it on my laptop with software to make sure it had the latest firmware/hardware updates. and although I got a blue screen of death after installing it, after rebooting it was sending and receiving packets with no problem and I was surfing by plugging it into my laptop. BUT I can't surf with it for more than a few minutes. I have no idea why but I keep getting a blue screen of death when plugged into my laptop. but i bought it for tivo so i was ready to use it with my tivo. All of the tivo literature states that you MUST have a standard landline phone to complete the initial setup. It's just not true. How to proceed: 1. Connect the USB-2-Ethernet adapter before switching on the tivo. Of course, make sure it's connected to a broadband connection somehow. Turn on tivo, set everything up on your tivo3. If they say they need to dial a number to complete the installation, precede the number with ",#401" - don't forget the comma.4. He dials, downloads whatever he needs, much faster than a regular landline, and BOOM, you're good to go. HAVE FUN!
