Review on 📸 YONGNUO Wireless ETTL Flash Trigger YN622C II: High-Speed Sync HSS 1/8000s for Canon Camera - Unmatched Performance! by Andy Baker

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Works great for simple applications, doesn't perform advanced configurations.

I bought Yongnuo transceivers to replace my reliable and simple Cowboy Studio triggers for two reasons: 1.) I prefer the locking connector on the bottom of the II version so they don't slide off the tripod or camera and 2. ) so I can still put the flash on top of my camera when using it as a top trigger. They hold up much better than the first version (YN622C) but I still had a fall off the stand (it's now wrapped in duct tape). They are more reliable than the first version. I can't say they are as reliable as Cowboy Studio's trigger/receivers, but they should (theoretically) be more versatile. I was planning on putting one flash on channel 1, group A, and the second on channel 1, group B, hoping to switch back and forth and then combine them when needed. However, I can't get them to work on combos. I then tried to buy a YN622C-TX controller for it but couldn't get it to work. I still have hope that I will come across another photographer who will solve the above problem, but for now they serve me as simple transceivers for both weddings and commercial work. Time commitment: Approximately three full days to test multiple configurations/flashes and try to get advanced features working.

Pros
  • Quick release design allows you to attach this flash trigger's hot shoe to your camera or flash.
Cons
  • Negative Gift
