That being said I think there is a quality control issue - I originally bought the YN622C (Not II) kit and had to return it because one of the two didn't work well with my Canon 580EX ii. They work great together with the 622c-TX transmitter. (Works with 80D and 580EX II.) When using the camera as a reference, a Canon brand unit may also be installed. All menu items light up and work as expected. I bought Yongnuo transceivers to replace my reliable and simple Cowboy Studio triggers for two reasons: 1.) I prefer the locking joint on the bottom of the II version so it doesn't come off the tripod or camera slide. and 2.) so that I can still mount the flash on top of my camera when using it as a trigger on top. After no longer working as a studio photographer with studio lighting, I started using Cactus handheld triggers which I redesigned and made to work even up to 300ft 99% of the time. I have tried two different sets of these Neewer 622c version TTL triggers but they are incompatible at best. These Yongbuo triggers work great.
