This is a great product and when it works it's fantastic. Combined with the YN-622-TX, this is probably the best wireless trigger system in this price range. That being said I think there is a quality control issue - I originally bought the YN622C (Not II) kit and had to return it because one of the two didn't work well with my Canon 580EX ii. I thought I was out of luck and maybe I would be better, so I got this. It turns out that once again one of the two devices doesn't like my 580EX ii. The flash blockage in the hot shoe results in the flash not being able to communicate with the transceiver. If it's not blocked and moved a little it works, but then it works twice instead of once. It also works when I change the power level to 622-TX. The fact that the flash wobble works in the hot shoe leads me to believe that the contacts are not making proper contact. I'm not sure. if i send it back because i like the system and i'm not sure if the new set will be better.
