Review on πŸ“Έ YONGNUO Wireless ETTL Flash Trigger YN622C II: High-Speed Sync HSS 1/8000s for Canon Camera - Unmatched Performance! by Brian Piecuch

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very pleasantly surprised - I recommend

Found these after dabbling with off camera flash and am very happy with the results and price. When I first tried an off-camera flash and honestly didn't know what I was doing, I was stupid enough to go out and buy a $250 Canon flash, thinking it was the only option . I was a bit skeptical when I found Yongnuo products, but I saw some reviews on YouTube and decided to give it a try. For the price, maybe even better than the price, these are great products and I'm amazed at how cheaply they changed my photo. Sure, I've had flashes, not triggers, but I don't think I'll ever be able to track down the cause of those triggers. Rather, I think the non-fires are always due to the lights not charging in time, or the batteries, or some other issue. Could you buy a Canon (or Nikon) and maybe be 100% sure your flashes fire? May be. But I can buy 5 of these guys for a big name price. This way I get a lot more lights and triggers and have a lot more Yongnuo purchase options. My only issue I've had with it, and mostly because I haven't read the somewhat confusing manual, is the power button. I didn't realize there were two options for the power switch: 560-RX and 622. Maybe the second time I used it, I just moved the power switch up one notch to the 560-RX position and my flash did not triggered. I was stumped for quite a while trying to figure out the problem and finally (accidentally) found a solution by moving the power switch one more notch to position 622. The instructions are confusing, but the bottom line is that these triggers interact differently depending on what transmitter you're using (I'm using a YONGNUO YN-622C-TX E-TTL trigger and the correct power switch setting on this receiver is 622). Parameter). Aside from the above (not really a product issue) it's a simple design, it's easy to set up your channel and group with a click of a button. I have only good reviews and I recommend this product.

Pros
  • Manual mode, YN-560TX, RF-603 II, RF-605C can be used as a transmitter and YN-622C II as a receiver.
Cons
  • Almost never

You get what you pay for - or in my case less than you pay for
