Clean, filtered air in my living room is literally a breath of fresh air. I have two large rugs that trap a lot of dust and dust mites and whatever floats around. Even if I clean them with carpet cleaner between cleanings, they tend to pick up more fine particles than my wooden floors in my dining room, for example. the day when most of the activities that result in microscopic dust being thrown around take place. This air filter has an easy to read LED screen on the front that I can read from across the room even with all the lights on. I like the fact that there is a distinct beep to let me know my remote input has been registered by the machine. Air filter noise is not usually audible during the day and normal background noise usually competes with it. If the house is really quiet and the volume is up, maybe I can hear it. I like the fact that my phone works like a remote control as I can control the settings right from my smartphone. Yes, a real machine takes up a lot of space. quite a bit of space, but it's a godsend as it has a nice, sleek design that doesn't stand out too much
