I bought a 4ft block to illuminate a slightly shaded corner in a sunny room to give the plants in my garden a boost. I liked it so much that I bought a second one for my own use as an aquarium light. The conservatory is more like an outdoor lizard vivarium so I thought a 24/7 function would be nice to provide 'moonlight' to observe the nocturnal lizards or work there after the main lights have gone out. All other lights are controlled by the Z-Wave automation system and I was a bit reluctant to use lights with their own timers. However, the default 24/7 mode syncs perfectly with other automatic lights and produces a beautiful sunrise/sunset transition, as opposed to abruptly turning the room on/off before adding Finnex. The potted plants actually responded to the extra PAR they bathed in. Running the same default 24/7 mode in the aquarium has been great so far. I am experimenting with a substrate in an aquarium using the Wolstead method. Has been working for about 3 months now. I grow Cobomba carolinensis, Rotalla macronda, Revain Sword 'compacta', Dwarf Sagittarius and Dwarf Grass. They all grow well, with Cobomba, Rotalla and Sword Pearl actively growing for several hours each day when the light is at its peak midday even without CO2 injection. Couldn't be happier with these lights.
