Review on Effortless Travel with Evenflo Gold Shyft Travel System Securemax Onyx (53212310) by Nathan Unruh

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good car seat/stroller but SensorSafe not worth the price

Car Seat: The car seat itself is very soft and has a lot of padding which we love. The cover is easy to remove and wash if it spills or gets dirty. The cap moves easily and silently; made of very nice material. The base is easy to secure in the car if you have a locking system, but can also be easily secured with a seat belt. Attaches easily and has a sensor security feature that ensures the buckle is unbuckled when you get out of the car so you don't forget your child in the car. (We couldn't use the sensor security feature because our Tesla doesn't have an OBD2 port to plug into. The vehicle must have an OBD2 port to function.) The car seat is about 4 inches longer than most other car seats we have have searched. in. So if you plan on using this in a small car, be aware that the passenger in front of the car seat may need to lean forward to accommodate the length of the seat. If you have a larger car this shouldn't be a problem. We would like to have the car seat canopy further forward to cover the baby, but other than that the car seat has everything we need. Stroller: The stroller is very good and has all the amenities that most strollers have today. The seat is removable and adjustable depending on how you want to use it. Although the seat lies perfectly flat, the seat itself is not entirely flat. Most seats that recline into bassinet mode are flat, but even the flow maintains a slight angle (as if you're reclining in a reclined seat). Baby can lie on their back and relax with their legs up, but it would be a little dangerous to sit in the cradle, so be aware. The seat material is excellent and very soft. The footrest adjustment is the same as many other high-end strollers, which is a great option. We really like that the Evenflo's brakes have a tab at the bottom and top so you can unlock the brakes. You can just press on the top instead of pulling with your toe, which is a bit odd. The brakes are independent of each other, so you have to turn them on and off on either side. There is plenty of space downstairs, nothing to brag about but plenty of room for large bags for diapers, toys, snacks etc. The stroller folds with locks on either side of the handles to unlock and fold down. It folds up small and takes up little space with the toddler seat attached. The handle has small rubber tabs so when you fold it it rests on these pieces of rubber to avoid scratching the handle. The stroller doesn't actually stand up unless the front wheels are oriented a certain way, so it has to either lean on something or lie down once it's folded. Child seat bumper What you find on cheap bikes. I intend to cut it out and replace it with faux leather to make it better and more comfortable. Also, the adult cup holder is too small. The seat bumper is a bit more difficult to attach and detach compared to other high-end models. Other brands have a pivoting bumper so you can get it out of the way and put your child in with one hand. In this case, you will have to press the latches with both hands to remove the rod. It's a small consolation really, but over time it will make a difference. Overall the seat and stroller are very good, but we felt the touch safety wasn't worth the investment. The car seat looks very comfortable, easy to clean, made of beautiful materials, and moderate weight. The stroller is also light, and the baby seat is also made of comfortable material, while being comfortable and easily adjustable. The material of the handle is a personal preference and we'd happily change it to something else, but other than that the stroller is great. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a mid-range stroller and car seat with many more features.
