The product itself works exactly as described which is perfect for beginners and also great as an extra light for basic photography, vlogging etc. This is a steady light, as the name suggests, not to be confused with "strobe light". Continuous light is a great way to learn because what you see is what you get. For the price this is a great way to learn and if/if you upgrade to flashes they're still great for adding extra lighting to photos and videos.
