I installed two of these under a cookbook cabinet where we had no light. I would have to use a flashlight to get the cookbook I needed. Multipurpose lights with motion sensors seemed like a solution. I simply installed the batteries and secured them with the supplied tape. Motion sensors detect movement when my hand approaches the shelf, and the light comes on instantly so I can see the books. I installed a third in a closet in the hallway, which again had no ceiling light. Now when you open the door, the light will come on and we can see! I haven't had them long enough to comment on battery life or durability. Yes, I would recommend them and order again.
