About two years ago I moved to a city with extremely hard water. What used to be very carefree, straight and soft hair has become a nightmare. It often got tangled, felt dry, but still got stuck. My scalp was flaky and itchy and I tried EVERYTHING to fix it. I JUST WANTED MY HAIR BACK. Then a friend of mine suggested a scalp scrub and after researching many much more expensive brands he found this one and decided to give it a try. I accidentally bought two but liked them so much I kept the second one for myself. In the jar it's a gel, similar to a thick scrub, but when applied to wet hair it lathers incredibly. I have very thick Asian hair and I rub it all over my scalp. As far as I know, the beads eventually dissolve and have a pleasant but not too strong smell. On the downside, I've noticed that it pulls my hair a lot and I NEED to condition it afterwards. What is good. Apparently it doesn't cut too much because my hair doesn't seem to soak up the conditioner like it's been weeks without water in the desert like my normal routine has. I then let my hair air dry like before (recently I had to blow dry it because my hair always looks cheesy) and my hair feels AGAIN. THAT IS AMAZING. It's impossible to understand the happiness I experienced after my hair returned to its normal healthy state. I'm so glad I have a backup but I use so little per shower that one bottle goes a long way and I have a lot of hair. it is, but I use it once every two to three showers between my usual hair treatments and it's been a miracle.
