just like a softer (but very effective) loofah but these are gloves! all the others were cheap junk - I've been using them for 10+ years, I've always bought them from the stables or whole foods, but they've all transitioned to gloves that feel more like knitted cotton ie. too soft to be rubbed or called a washcloth. - Buy more than one because you will probably want to use 2-3 pairs a year, they will never go moldy if you just let them air dry. You don't even have to press them. They prevent and treat all kinds of skin problems, even ingrown hairs, which luckily I've never had any problems with, and perhaps my favorite thing: They make showering so much faster and more efficient - actually, it's the only logical way to shower or bathe. Especially when it's over 100 degrees outside I don't even feel like I can clean enough in the shower unless I use a loofah and these gloves are literally not only more effective than a regular loofah for cleaning everywhere wash, but they are AT LEAST 4-5 times faster to use than "chunky old washcloth".
