I finally found a cheaper model in all different price ranges. One day my expensive mid-range iron broke and I had to find a new one. They were all disappointing so I bought it thinking it was cheap. At first I didn't like it. I turned it on. I ironed my twin daughters natural hair. One has very coarse hair, the other thin. I also straightened my hair after a perm. I use 450 temp for all three of us. It's hard - in a good way. It forces you to use your hands more and try new things. The material is not slippery which makes it more convenient for me to braid ribbons in my girls hair. It glides very nicely. It is soaked in oil to keep hair looking healthy and not heavy or greasy. I will buy another one in case it is discontinued. Her packaging lasted two weeks with one run.
