Great base but needs a few tweaks

Pros: The base hammock is very comfortable and strikes a good balance between thicker, heavier material and ultra light materials and frankly heavier material. feels better than many of the ultralight hammocks I've tried. The zips are decent, the side pocket is great for a few essentials like a phone or flashlight, although I wouldn't put much weight in it. The daisy chains and carabiners are heavy duty making installation quick and easy, and the canvas is generously sized and unlike many other hammocks I never felt like I didn't have enough material to hold the rest of my gear. Elements. A particularly nice touch to the tarp is the attachment points halfway up each side, which allowed me to tie off the midpoints a couple of times and fold a free corner under a backpack or rock and create a wall to keep wind or rain out . . I also appreciate that the hammock and tarp come in separate bags as they are easier to pack than one large unit and it is handy to leave the raincoat components at home when the weather is nice. what can and cannot be fixed. If you intend to go camping with this setup, carabiners and daisy chains should be removed immediately. These are the heaviest components in the kit, luckily they are also easy and relatively cheap to replace. I keep my daisy necklaces for easy use in the car or in the garden, and for hiking I have a set of Hummingbird Ultralight Lanyards. The included carabiners are steel and honestly a must have no matter how heavy they are. The pins on the gates are rough and unfinished, often catching in the mosquito net and making me fear they would break. Grab a pair of lightweight climbing carabiners if weight is an issue, or a pair of quick links from a hardware store if you don't mind. The biggest concern, as many have said, is the bug net. Mosquito net loops are definitely lightweight. Another problem is that when run on a single line, the error net closes awkwardly and feels claustrophobic. You really need to run a line either side of the tree to stretch it a bit, or install some sort of spacer between the loops to help. All in all, this is an amazing setup for the price, especially for a beginner. Motorhome with hammock. An absolutely solid purchase.
