This is a mix of water socks/shoes and traditional boat shoes. This means the fit is snug yet stretchy. I ordered 1/2 size larger than usual and they are perfect. Very sticky on dry boat decks and also very sticky on wet non slip fiberglass decks. They offer more support overall than conventional docksiders and especially lateral support. With them I feel absolutely safe on deck. I only wear them on the boat and dock so can't comment on how they perform on sidewalks or grass. The arch is ok but a little flatter than I would like but my arch is high. The good news is that the insole is removable. So if you need more arch support (or less), you can insert your favorite insole. If Sperry only made them for women.
