I am so happy with this set! If you've been searching and comparing like crazy to find the best paints with great quality at a reasonable price then you've found it! Just buy this kit; You will be happy. I tried my sister's set and it looked like chrome but more like a chrome shine. This is real chrome. I only tried 5 colors out of 16 but they really impressed me. I used the Orly Black Manicure-in-1 Nail Polish which gives a very strong black base in just one coat. I let it dry then apply a clear top coat and let it dry almost completely (this part is tricky because it's too wet and you don't get that bright chrome shine, but too dry and it doesn't work very well either). Then dip the small applicator into the powder and pat in, then massage in. I dab first because if the nail polish is too wet you won't ruin your nails or the applicator by rubbing the nail polish off. This is only the second time I've done this process, so don't be too harsh on my little piggies. Dark purple (middle finger) shows lots of black undertone when fully covered, very pretty in the light. The hot pink is very bright and shiny and is the easiest to apply. The rose gold is beautiful, but somehow more complex (maybe just my problem). Lilac and mauve are also vibrant and easy to apply. With them you get real chrome if you do it right.
