Review on Zupapa Hammock Stand Fit For 8-11 Feet Hammock, 2 Person Heavy Duty With Carry Bag, Outdoor Indoor Use Steel Hammock Frame by Duane Rogers

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Works well for what I needed, but assembly was nearly impossible.

I ordered this 15-ft hammock stand after having to send back a different 12-ft stand that was a mismatch in size for my hammock. As it turns out, 12' hammock stands are all over the internet but 15' is hard to find right now. If you have a longer hammock, or plan to use a hammock for 2 people at a time, and you're unsure of what size stand to order, trust me. GO WITH 15' (LIKE THIS STAND) if you have the space.Pros: I was super happy with the shipping time on this product. It arrived to me a week before it was expected to be restocked and shipped. Assembly is simple and the instructions were easy to follow. Seems sturdy and is the perfect size for my 13-ft hammock with some room. I set this stand up in a space that BARELY fit it so I didn't have room to set up the side table. It seems like a nice feature, but if you don't want to use it, assembly to remove or add it is easy. This stand also comes with extra chains if your hammock doesn't have them. This is a hefty sized stand so measure your available space if you're working with a confined area. While setting mine up, I was so worried I had measured wrong but it just fit!Cons: I only rated this stand 3 out of 5 stars because unfortunately the stand was nearly impossible to assemble. Perhaps I got a faulty set of assembly pieces but each female end piece was always too narrow to fully insert the male end piece. When locking the two pieces together you should be able to lock them so that the silver push-button on the male piece locks into the little hole on the female piece, but with my set, none of these pieces except the two "arms" of the stand would lock into place. I used WD-40 between the pieces to help slide them together, it took multiple people to push them together and in the end, the base of the hammock stand does not lay straight but instead is bent slightly. Because assembly wasn't smooth, the inner pieces were scored and scratched by the outer pieces which is frustrating. The 12' stand I assembled and had to return before was effortless to assemble so it was worrisome when this set barely went together. I didn't see anybody else mention this problem so hopefully I am an outlier! I will update this review if this ends up jeopardizing the strength of this stand but I'm hopeful it will hold up as this is one of the only 15' stands I can find and I like it a lot otherwise.

Pros
  • The only hammock support that would be better is to bolt into two huge trees.
Cons
  • The steel frame may rust over time if not properly cared for
