I have never bought such expensive toys, I am a minimalist and only arranged frank and exciting toys for my little one in our Montessori house. This is a good set, ideal for many years of open play. I have a kid on the way who will also use it for years but I still find it expensive. If I were to buy blocks of wood, string of beads, a shape for storage, and a cart I could get it all for less than this set, but you also get the store, mag wheels, and ramp. I'm still happy with this purchase considering it's been used for many years.
