Lately I've been experimenting with growing my beard longer than usual and have experimented with different brands of beard balm as a result. This is the first one I've tried and it has remained my favorite until now. The hold is about as good as others sold for heavy use, meaning it does a pretty good job of smoothing out my frizzy beard in the morning and softening things up. Nice. A special feature of this balm is the smell. As noted by both positive and negative reviews, it is relatively effective compared to other balms that completely disappear within 30 minutes. The Rocky Mountain Barber Sandalwood Blend leaves a noticeable scent for hours. I got the impression from other reviews that your opinion depends on whether you like the scent or not. My wife and I do. I'm not sure I would identify it as sandalwood if I tasted it blindly, but it's beautiful. My wife said it has a strong vanilla note for what it's worth. Anyway, we both like it, and that's why this balm is a hit right here.
