The Apple Watch has a notoriously short battery life, especially when loading and running background apps and resource-intensive apps like Strava, Audible, Spotify, etc. I found that one cable wasn't enough, so I'll keep the original at the charging station in our family room that looks like a poorly made pasta plate and bought a second cord and this nifty device for my relatively clutter-free bedside table. It reminds me to take my watch off before showering and charge it overnight so it's fresh in the morning. The ONLY thing I don't like (my fault, not theirs) is the color. I bought pink thinking it would match my rose gold watch, but it is pastel pink and looks like it belongs in a child's room. Should have gone with black, had to go with black Otherwise works well and stores excess cable neatly. Black is not needed.
