I spent some time looking for a similar cord/strand to repair/replace an aging cord/strand on an antique necklace I had. Eventually it broke so I was desperately trying to find a replacement. I used to order different sizes from the same brand/company for other projects for myself and for others but the cable diameter was too big. Luckily, after several weeks of searching, I was able to find a round, waxed, strong line I had from the same brand that would do the job perfectly. I recently had a necklace repaired (with over 300 pieces individually hand cut and drilled, it was a 3 hour project, especially with some of the holes not being exactly the same size) but the cord held. It tied easily to the hook and loop components, absorbed and held the glue I used to seal the knots and string some of the beads, and so far looks very similar to the original that threaded the chain. . I'm sure it will last, will last a while with care and for the price the amount is worth it. So if another repair is needed (I hope not), I have enough rope to go back and do the job again when I know it's going to work. I can also use it for customers for small parts.
