I actually had problems with port replicators not working as advertised or at least randomly. Not only did this work consistently with multiple USB ports, but it also supported two additional video ports, even with DVI->VGA and DVI->HDMI adapters. I didn't see any problems with sound, video or USB. It even uses HDMI and an audio jack with a full microphone and hassle-free audio. It even makes good use of USB 2 and USB 3. And yes, I bought more than one.
