day 1/8 May 2017: I bought this in anticipation of my Savannah cat as Savannahs are known for their love of lace and exuberant/hyperpersonal temperaments. I live in an apartment and space is limited. I thought this would be a good way to give the kittens room to climb and still save floor space. I also have a 13lb Maine Coon. I just received the product today and chose it for stability/security reasons as it can be top or bottom mounted. WARNING: They have ADDED BUMPERS (shown) to the product to help with the clearance that other people have mentioned with thinner doors. This thing is very stable as my Maine Coon has been running up and down through the inner holes for the last hour. There is a strong plastic smell which has been mentioned in previous reviews. I helped my cat get over it 1). Spray Feliway (soothing spray, $8-15 on Amazon) in each of the 5 compartments, 2). Spray catnip spray ($1 at Walmart) in every other compartment to encourage play/attract the cat, and 3). by placing multiple treats on each level. He LOVES it so far. I don't have my Savannah kitten yet, but will update this product review over time and carry/vomit/play/play with multiple cats. ADVANTAGES: - Very roomy for cats! - Suitable for many cats in a small space. - Accommodates large cat(s). - Seems to be stable. - Easy to assemble (less than 20 minutes, woman weighs 125 pounds 5 feet 4 feet). - Many branches/levels. Discreet storage.-High quality materials. Can be easily used to transport kittens to any location with a door. - Chui (5 year old male Maine Coon) loves it! - I hope Leah (Savannah, a 14 week old dog) loves him as much. She arrives on Saturday (will report an update). CONS: - It's too big and disables/blocks using the doorknob on my door. - It's an eyesore, as my friend put it. - Takes up more space than I thought. Please read the measurements carefully and look at the pictures as they suggest a smaller option. - Strong plastic smell (I hope this will fade with time).
