Review on Pure Digital PSV 351 Discontinued Manufacturer by Daryle Grove

Revainrating 5 out of 5

No wonder, but it has a unique purpose.

*** Why choose this small device? Over the last few years I have made many videos and released several family DVDs. I have two video cameras, one with 1-CCD and one with 3-CCD. I have two separate video lights to add light when shooting videos in low light conditions. I have two digital cameras that can also record videos. One of them can even zoom in and out during video recording (very few digital cameras support this feature). But this PSV-351 point-and-shoot camcorder still adds to my collection. For serious events I use my 3 CCD video camera with video light (but as you can see, quite laborious.). But for everyday use I could use this compact PSV-351 camcorder. This PSV-351 is very lightweight, convenient to carry and very easy to use. I always carry it with me. As for the quality of the video, I tried it under different lighting conditions with objects at different distances. Here are my reviews. (1) It tends to produce videos with richer colors. This makes the video appear brighter and more colorful. (2) It records decent video even in low light (compared to my other camcorders). In my experience, most videos shot with the camera perform better in low light. Not sure why. (3) Since the focus is fixed, the video image will probably not be sharp enough. But after a few tries, you'll be able to determine the best distance between you and the subject to create clearer video images. My experience is about 5 feet. (4) The saved video is in AVI format, so it can be played by almost any application software. Digital camera prices are falling faster than you think these days. But for a compact size digital camera capable of simultaneously recording video and sound in 480x640 resolution at 30fps, the price is still higher than this PSV-351. I got mine for $86 (Revain Daily Special), after $20 off my final cost is $66. I still couldn't find a competitive digital camera for this price. Good value for money. For the price I paid and the value it offers, I'll give it a 5. *** Costco Recommendation *** A Costco store near me is also starting this easy point and shoot camcorders for sale. Coco costs $89.99. Costco has a very, very generous return policy (this is a very important issue for people buying a computer, camera, camcorder, and other electronics). They offer decent quality products and at a good price to avoid excessive profits. I'm happy with this little camcorder. *** Low Light Video Quality *** I compared Apple to Apple Video between this simple point and shoot PSV-351 camcorder and my Panasonic 3CCD camcorder in low light. condition (in my living room with a 300W floor lamp). I am very impressed that the PSV-351 produces much better quality video than my Panasonic 3CCD camcorder. As I mentioned in my previous review, a camera-based camcorder (like the PSV-351) tends to produce better video in low-light conditions. But I'm just surprised to see that the PSV-351 works so well in low light conditions.*** Video Editing ***This PSV-351 saves video in MPEG-4 format. Most video editing programs can process MPEG-4 videos. If you like editing MPEG-4 video but your computer isn't that powerful, you can convert the MPEG-4 video to DV format first (unlike most video editing programs that can).
