This little thing does what it's supposed to do. Before buying, make sure you understand how to get an extended screen (many negative reviews don't include this part). Here's what you need to know when trying to set up 3 monitors (laptop + 2 external monitors).1. This adapter is NOT suitable to connect two independent monitors alone (but it is possible, read on). Although it has a VGA and an HDMI slot, it only connects to one port on your computer (USB-C). Therefore anything plugged into that adapter will show the same image as the information is coming out of one port. So you can think of it as a convenient 2-to-1 adapter, but you can only connect one device at a time if you want independent monitors instead of a duplicated image.2. To get two independent monitors, you need to connect one monitor through this adapter and then the other monitor through a completely different port on your computer. How you add a second external monitor is up to you - via HDMI, USB-A, VGA, etc. In my case, I had two HDMI monitors, but only one HDMI port. This effectively solved my problem by converting my second HDMI connection to a USB-C connection.
