Sigh. Read the photos and reviews carefully before purchasing. The one I ordered arrived warped (as other reviewers have noted) and although I ordered white they sent me a taupe. My biggest complaint is that the advertised "one-handed locking and unlocking handle, easy for parents to open and lock" is simply not true - it's very difficult to operate unless I'm holding the gate with my other hand Celebration. With my hand the whole thing spins and falls every time I try to unlock it. By the way, if you think you can control the handle while holding the baby, or the utensils, or the sloppy dog food bowl, please look carefully at the picture and notice that the handle is halfway to the gate what means the handle is only 13 inches off the ground. You'll have to bend down to reach the handle and turn it (and as mentioned above, you'll probably need both hands anyway). Luckily, in my case, I planned to use it to keep an older cat out of my basement. Office and no one will push it or lean on it, so its precariousness caused by deformation is not a show stopper. Since it's in the basement, the color isn't critical either, and I don't have to open the lock often. Otherwise I would send the thing back. Result? I wouldn't trust that gate to keep a child safe. No way.
