Build Nightmare

I'm a divorced mom so I only do this on Christmas Eve. Everything else I made a few days earlier, just needed to have it together by Christmas morning. Note that I built a bookshelf from scratch (using 2x4s, 1x6s, plywood, saw blades, and miter saws), assembled a giant workbench for my garage, and made most Ikea furniture in under an hour can . This thing is no. The problem is that each shelf has grommets set into the screw holes, which is a great idea as these grommets prevent you from inserting the screw crookedly and poking through the shelf. The sleeves themselves are crooked in the tray! I try to insert each bolt into the hub at an angle with a socket (hex) wrench, after 90 minutes and only 2 of the 6 bolts in place I've completely given up. So my girl got dolls and furniture for Christmas, but no house to go with it. What a bummer as I usually love Melissa & Doug products. Maybe it was just me, maybe I have a bum, but an honest assessment of my skills versus product design makes me think it's a dollhouse, not me.
