Vacuum-packed, our duvet is probably still stretching, but it's already thick and warm. With three small children in the house who know how to get things dirty, we are drawn to the idea of a duvet with its removable and easy-to-clean cover. However, the surviving ceiling is a very pleasing green color and would have been very attractive in its own right. Of course, there is no separate cover in the kit. I noticed that only four of the eight "corner hinges" advertised were actually attached to the corners. It turns out the rectangle only has four corners, so the workers improvised by placing the other four corner loops in the middle of each side. These corner loops are small enough not to raise any objections when the quilt is used without a cover. The label on the duvet says 75% waterfowl feathers and 25% waterfowl down. The quilt is "quilted" into sewn compartments about one square foot.
