The next way to turn your TV into a digital picture frame alongside a micro PC

This unit works as advertised (and has features the cheaper competitor doesn't have)! It blends photos as desired AND rotates them properly without stretching them, and the image is crisp! The autostart feature means that if I remove power (turn off the outlet or unplug) and restore, it will continue playing, but 1) it takes some time - be patient; and 2) in random mode it tends to always play the first frame on the disc first and then jump to a random frame after a certain amount of time. (The 32" LCD TV I use does the same thing: if the TV is on when the power goes out, it will also turn on when the power is restored; together I can use them with the little Christmas light bulbs -Start timer.) - Desk timer /schedule function, but switching the power supply for both is probably the best solution (if the player turns off, the TV will eventually time out, turn off and have to turn it on manually the next day ; the physical timer works with both, everything happens automatically.) I haven't tried video or music functions (for now). Note that the only connections are HDMI or Composite Analog Video; There is no VGA on it. When I first envisioned this setup, I wanted to use an old VGA monitor and TV with a PC, so this device wouldn't work. As it turns out, the PC doesn't like TV at all (won't boot). VGA or HDMI, so I had to return a small monitor, and now this TV is a photo display! If you have a compatible replacement screen, it's MUCH cheaper than any digital frame and the UI is almost as good as Nixplay. Don't spend $150-$200 on a 15" TV when you can turn your 20" TV into the same one for only $50!
