I bought this product to help eliminate odors in my kitchen/living room and this air purifier has done a great job. The device circulates air quickly at maximum fan speed and runs silently at minimum fan speed. I like that the accumulated air filter blows air *up* and not across the room. I have enough fixed fans in my rooms blowing air in all directions, so it would be nice to add an air filter that doesn't create a cyclone in my living room. The filter has a built-in odor-absorbing honeycomb layer. Net with loose activated carbon. I was a little frustrated that the odor absorbing layer was built *in* the HEPA filter, which means you have to replace the entire filter if you want to replace the odor control element. However, it looks like the little screen on top of this honeycomb screen does a really good job of catching cat hair and large bits of dust, which would be the main reason I would need to replace the charcoal/dust filter anyway. The back is a bit annoying to open and close, but you probably won't open the back all that often. You need to pull on the bottom of the back of the device. Pros: Lightweight. Doesn't look like a spaceship. Large filter area. Very quiet operation in sleep mode. Fast air circulation. Built-in odor absorbing activated carbon. Cons: The odor absorbing layer is glued to the HEPA filter. If you don't want to absorb odors, you'll have to buy another brand's H-13 filter. Disturbing rear wall for changing the filter. Make it useful without making it look and act like a spaceship.
