I bought this for $199 and it really fits the niche that a lot of people fall into I think. Namely people who are looking for a high-quality turntable with built-in speakers. Most on the market are VERY cheap, with poor speakers and a terrible mechanism that almost always has a bright red cartridge. This one, on the other hand, has a large wooden body, a good cartridge and the right counterweight. Wish there were more products of this kind on the market! It sounds good, has enough bass and allows the use of different pickups. I gave 4 stars because it has more plastic than I expected. The tonearm tube is metal while the shell and everything else is plastic. The platform on which the mechanism is built is made of plastic, although it is well suspended so that vibration does not cause problems. The grips also feel plasticky and a bit flimsy. But this thing is so close to perfection. Upgrade the tonearm assembly to something like the Audio Technica AT LP-120 with a removable metal shell, make the platform and mechanism metal and make it more durable, and upgrade the knobs (and maybe add an option with 78 rpm) and take more for it. It's so close to perfect, but it's really good for what it is. I recommend this as long as you understand what it is.
