Well this light is small and thin. I opened the box and immediately the circuit board that controls the light in the lantern body is simply hanging and not attached to the body. Okay, I open the case and fix it, pull out 6 screws and find that the transparent cover is NOT waterproof. So be aware that when riding in the rain, water can get inside the case and fog up the transparent plastic. I would say the board won't last long if it gets wet. I used clear silicone around the bottom and then put the lid back on to keep water out. As for the light in general, the cord is quite long and it's quite bright. I have a white/amber setup and you can't really see the amber, it's more like a big strobe light. Are the magnets on the bottom of the flashlight pretty strong and rubbery? Silicone? Pass over a real magnet to avoid scratching your car/truck's paintwork. Overall yes, this is a $30 light so expect a $30 install. Would I buy it again? Hard to say, I think I'll answer that question after he's been in my truck for a long time. To update! Now only 3 lamps work. The rest burned down. A few months of use and it's unusable but to be expected for the price.
