This cable isn't even worth the $5 I paid for it. Cat5 definitely isn't. It doesn't even meet the Category 3 specification. The pairs are not twisted and the conductors are not copper. The conductors are probably made of a cheap alloy. At first I thought it was just tinned copper, but the resistivity is 12 ohms on 75 feet of 24 gauge wire. It roughly corresponds to the resistance index of iron or tin. It will not stick to a magnet. Tin is slightly more expensive than copper at cm^3, so I doubt the conductors are tin. Stay away even if you intend to use them as a source of electrical wires.
