Save big with DIY, but make it splash!

Perfect for the DIYer, I bought and tested a sample elite kit ($7), I like CinaGray 5d best. Getting one with a fixed frame on Revain costs over 1,000 though! Then I found this raw stock for 135 inches at the current price of $177, I bought this and a cheap frame with a screen that was pretty good for $170, after some cutting and tape I made a $1000 screen for $347 $. My only issue is the horrible smell on the second day, and it can still be seen in my living room even though the windows are open and onions are cooking. If I had a cleaner garage I would build it in there and air it out a little more. Some people complain about hot spots due to a bad projector lens. I have an Epson 4010, no problem. This material also has a top and bottom that cannot be identified. Bring a flashlight to it and change the angles you'll notice left/right/ The bottom will have weak reflections but the "top" has a strong reflection which is good for a high mounted projector, i would probably swap it out for a low mounted projector. The material stretches well and is easy to clean, but don't let the heat touch you! don't use grommets either, they break, I used tape and tie rods with a whole punch. the material seems so thin. I'm "updating" a custom painted wall using the AVFourms mixed paint trick. This screen increases the perceived sharpness, the contrast seems to be the same, it also reduces the ambient light so I can see more detail when the light is on Due to the increased reflection, this screen has a brighter image at the same lamp level as my painted wall and two other examples. This may allow some users to use ECO mode or less to extend lamp life.
