I bought this keyboard for a home office that occupies a niche away from the family living space so I wanted it to be as uncluttered and minimal as possible. Above all, I want to avoid cable clutter. I used a Unicomp Model M at work for many years, which I really liked, but it was too loud for me at home. I thought about what to do with the blue Gateron switches, but in practice I really like them. Feels lighter than the Unicomp springs but I got used to it quickly and may prefer them soon. In any case, after many years of being forced to use a laptop keyboard or mud junk in various offices, quite satisfactory. I was also concerned about using the Bluetooth connection as other people have occasionally reported issues, but this worked like a charm. It was easy to connect and easy to reconnect after using the keyboard with other devices. I don't see any lags, missing characters, or duplicate characters. I don't play so there might be a level of responsiveness that others want that I don't have, but as far as I know every hit has an instant result. It probably helps that I'm using this with a new NUC that has the latest Bluetooth 4.0. The keyboard goes into sleep mode after ten minutes and requires a keystroke to wake it up. I understand, that a sleep algorithm is needed for battery life, but I want it to be adjustable - I'd trade more frequent charging for longer vigilance. However, I quickly got into the habit of pressing Shift once I got back to typing. I've gotten used to using laptops on dark airplanes to restore the backlight. Speaking of which, I found the backlight to be more useful than I thought it would be. I got a model with plain white LEDs and used only the most boring, basic settings. I make it easier to work in the dark, which I often do, and serve as a reminder that the keyboard is sleeping. The biggest bonus for me was how well the keyboard works with other devices like my iPhone and Samsung Smart TV and meets needs I didn't even know I had. I don't like typing long emails and texts with my thumbs. If the keyboard is within reach, the -1, -2, or -3 function allows you to switch quickly without problems. It also saved me the hassle of tapping with the TV remote when trying to find a movie on Netflix or entering a password. My only objection to the keyboard is that I don't like its form factor in practice. This is not a design criticism. I thought I would, but now I'd prefer a more expansive no-key design, with a conventional arrow key layout and a small gap between the digits and function keys. It's perfect for someone who wants to throw it in a backpack and use it in many places, but for a clean keyboard in one place, it's more concise than I need. It also costs a little more than I would have liked. but it really just comes down to the right palm rest. Build quality is excellent, the keyboard feels solid and inflexible, and the weight (though a lot less than the good old Unicomp) is enough to keep it firmly in one place. I will definitely keep this keyboard even if I end up buying a bigger one for everyday use. Now I know how well Bluetooth and blue buttons work for me. I recommend it for the quality but always subjective preference and the work done. Even if I end up buying a bigger one for everyday use. Now I know how well Bluetooth and blue buttons work for me.
